Biography

Ger Fahy is born on September 26, 1963 and comes from Ballinakill in Galway.

On the early age of 3 years old he was already playing and won after that many all Ireland titles in whistle and pipes.

He comes from an extremely musical and talented family. His grandfather Thomas Whyte was one of the founder members of the famous Ballinakill Ceili Band and his aunt was the legendary fiddler Aggie Whyte.

His early CD "Celtic Legend" is still available on OpenEar.com. On this CD Ger is playing traditional Irish numbers by flute and pipes. If you want to purchase the Tara or Furry Village CD's , you have no choice but to visit a concert or a show. The CD's are not available in stores or online. Unfortunately!!

Gerard has toured intensively with first Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance and later the Feet of Flames Victory Tour and was the musical director. He wrote the opening for Feet of Flames which is now used in Tara as Warrior Training School.

Ger has also recently worked with Michael Flatley on Michael's new flute CD of which the releasedate is yet still unknown.

One of his talented sisters, Máirin Fahy, soloist fidler of Riverdance, has just released a CD called Máirin and Ger has composed three of the numbers for her.

The Irish Musical Tara is an unknown masterpiece with an ancient Irish story, combined with hartbreaking music and strong, powerful rock. During the show, Furry Village - Ger's band, gives away a couple of terrific solo numbers.Magh Seola , one of his compositions recorded by the Boston Pops Orchestra spent 3 months at the top of the US classical charts.

The National Irish station TG4 has used Gerard’s compositions for many animated series including Pangur Ban.In Tara you are treated to more than 20 of Gerard’s best compositions including Magh Seola.
